01-Gold-RS.jpg Gold-plated Relays & Switches
The signal from the pickups of an electric guitar or bass is so weak that poor-quality cables, cold joints and cheap contact materials ruin your sound. Switch contacts need to be made of special materials to permit loss-free switching of these low-level signals. All Lehle switchers feature special relays and slide switches with gold-plated contacts for totally reliable, absolutely zero-loss switching.
02-3-band-EQ.jpg 3-band EQ
An EQ is primarily intended to raise particularly desirable frequencies in a sound spectrum as well as filtering out the undesired ones. With the 3-band EQ this can be accomplished very intuitively.
With pot T you control the highs, M is responsable for the mids and with pot B the basses. The treble control is a shelving filter, while the mids and the bass frequencies are boosted or cut via bell filters. The frequencies of the EQ are perfect for upright and electric basses.
05-Gain.jpg Adjustable Gain
Adjustment of volume or distortion using a gain controller is a vital feature in many situations. The gain controllers on the corresponding Lehle products feature black anodized aluminium knobs set back into the housing so that they can be easily fingertip rotated but keep their settings during performances and transportation.
07-18V.jpg Voltage Internally Doubled to 18V
To exploit the dynamics of tube amplifiers to the full, the input voltage of Lehle products bearing this symbol is rectified from the power supply socket, then filtered, stabilized and doubled to 18V.
The Basswitch Clean Boost was born out of the idea to buy the Basswitch IQ DI another full-fledged channel. This compact preamp combines the boostfunction of the Basswitch IQ DI with a 3-band-eq that has been especially voiced for a clean sound. Additionnaly the treble control combines a passive high frequencies reduction with an active high frequency boost.
The EQ of the Basswitch Clean Boost has the feel of a mixing console channel to it and allows a strong bending of the basic signal. It consigns a wonderfully tidy soundscape and your instrument will receive a new sonic shine.
The Basswitch Clean Boost allows gain adjustment of +/- 15 dB and can be used as a stand-alone booster, it can be teamed up with the Basswitch IQ DI for more options or work as a compact standalone preamp in front of an active monitor or bass cab.
The approved Lehle True Sound Technology ensures a great tone: starting from the discrete JFET input stage, up to the switching via gold-plated relais this booster offers a more than studio-standard dynamic range of over 110 dB with very little noise. The Basswitch Clean Boost works internally with 18 V, but is content with all power supplies between 9 – 15 V AC or DC. The extremely robust construction with its protected controls and indestructable switching mechanism will provide many years of joy with clean boosting.

Soundroom: Ruppert Musical Instruments Basswitch Classic Boost, Clean Boost, and Sonic Spark Pedals
Pros: Hi-fi quality, well-tuned EQ
Great sounding, flexible preamp[s] with a small footprint. The tone seemed smoother even before I activated the switch.
The Clean Boost is a versatile EQ/pre that handles the signal with accuracy, and wide-open dynamics, while its close relative the Classic Boost offers a nostalgic reference back to the days of tube processing.
[Compared to the Classic Boost], the Clean Boost sounded more open, and the lows seemed wider.

Clean and dirty
Finally! Lehle pedals for bass players!
All in all, both pedals [RMI Classic Boost and RMI Clean Boost] deliver an enormously fresh and dynamic signal, which is especially useful for passive basses and long cable distances.
Inserted at the beginning of the effects chain, all three pedals provide a clean and uncomplicated signal, even when they are switched off.
The frequencies of both controls are neatly chosen. Even extreme settings sound musical.

RMI Basswitch Preamps – Sonic Park, Classic Boost, Clean Boost

Both boosters sound excellent, without hiss or loss of sound. You can spice up your passive bass a bit or just add some of meat to your tone.

The Soundimprovers

The classily designed and competently built Basswitch pedals reliably provide a high sound quality by picking up every little detail from your instrument and convert it into a solid output signal, which you can also route directly into a mixer or an A/D converter.
The high quality of the well balanced Basswitch pedals is also apparent in their exemplary noiselessness.
The first thing that strikes you about the Clean Boost is the stronger influence of the EQ controls where you can e.g. in the lows adjust a downright massive gain up to 17 dB just as dramatically damp it. The frequency range is a bit lower, which is useful for the extended frequency spectrum of modern fivestrings and drop tunings.
The high quality of the well balanced Basswitch pedals is also apparent in their exemplary noiselessness.
